
MISSISSIPPI — Two people were killed and another injured in a head-on crash Friday morning in Raymond, Mississippi, according to authorities.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 4:22 a.m. on Highway 18 and involved an SUV and a pickup truck.
Hinds County Coroner’s Office officials said a 51-year-old woman, who was driving the SUV, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.
Authorities said the driver of the pickup truck, a 29-year-old man, was transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
A passenger in the SUV and the driver of the truck were taken to the hospital with injuries, officials said.
Emergency crews from multiple agencies responded to the crash, and the roadway was temporarily closed before reopening later in the morning.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
