OHIO — A man from Massillon, Ohio was killed in a head-on crash Thursday afternoon in Stark County, Ohio, according to authorities.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 12:15 p.m. on state Route 93 in Lawrence Township.
Investigators said a GMC Sierra traveling north crossed left of center and collided head-on with a Chevy Silverado.
The driver of the GMC, identified as 41-year-old Shawn Simon, was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers said he had to be extricated from the vehicle using the Jaws of Life.
The driver of the Silverado was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
