Two people arrested following drug bust in North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA — Two men are facing multiple drug charges following a traffic stop in Chadbourn, North Carolina, according to authorities.

The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office said Jeffery Collins and Carl McMillian were arrested April 16 during a stop in Columbus County, North Carolina.

Deputies said a K-9 alerted officers to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. A search was conducted, and cocaine was allegedly found.

Collins is charged with trafficking in cocaine, two counts of conspiracy to traffic in cocaine, obstructing justice, obtaining a controlled substance by fraud or forgery, obtaining property by false pretenses and altering, stealing or destroying criminal evidence. Court records show he is being held on a $250,000 secured bond.

McMillian is charged with trafficking in cocaine, two counts of conspiracy to traffic in cocaine, maintaining a place for controlled substances and a window tint violation. He is being held on a $200,000 secured bond, according to court records.

“This operation demonstrates our unwavering commitment to removing illegal drugs from our streets and ensuring the safety of both our citizens and our officers,” Sheriff Bill Rogers said.
