MISSISSIPPI — More than 7,000 customers are without power across Mississippi as of Wednesday morning, according to outage tracking data.

Figures from PowerOutage.us show approximately 7,346 homes and businesses are currently without electricity statewide, representing about 0.49% of the nearly 1.5 million customers tracked.

The outages are spread across several counties, with Madison County reporting the highest number at around 1,784 customers affected. Washington County follows with roughly 1,553 outages, while Chickasaw County and Attala County are also seeing significant impacts, each with several hundred customers without power.

Utility data shows Entergy accounts for the largest share of outages, reporting more than 5,000 customers in the dark. Other providers, including Tombigbee Electric Power Association and Bolivar Energy Authority, are also reporting scattered outages.

Statewide, Mississippi ranks among the hardest-hit states Wednesday, placing third in total outages and first in percentage of customers affected nationwide, according to the data.

Restoration efforts are ongoing, and residents are urged to report outages to their utility providers and avoid downed power lines.
