MISSISSIPPI — A man is dead after being struck by a vehicle late Tuesday night in Gautier, according to the Gautier Police Department.
Officers responded around 11 p.m. to the area of MS-67 near Robinson Still Road. A preliminary investigation indicates a vehicle traveling northbound struck a person who was in the roadway.
Emergency responders with Acadian Ambulance Service attempted lifesaving measures, but the man died from his injuries.
The victim has not yet been identified. The Jackson County Coroner’s Office described him as a white male believed to be between 50 and 60 years old. Officials are working to confirm his identity and notify family members.
Police said the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. The case remains under investigation.
