
TEXAS — A Mississippi man was arrested May 8 following a traffic stop in Big Spring that led to the discovery of more than 3 pounds of suspected marijuana, according to authorities.
The stop was conducted by a trooper with the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Officials said deputies from Sterling County assisted during the investigation with a K-9 unit, which alerted to a locked suitcase inside the vehicle. Authorities said approximately 3.4 pounds of suspected marijuana was found inside the suitcase.
Investigators also recovered about $900 in cash during the stop.
The driver, whose name was not released, was arrested without incident and booked into the Howard County Detention Center.
