ILLINOIS — One woman was killed and three other people were injured in a head-on crash early Sunday on Chicago’s Far South Side, according to Chicago police.
Police said the crash happened just after midnight in the 6300 block of South Richards Drive in the Jackson Park area.
Investigators say a white sedan carrying three adults crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a silver sedan driven by a man who was the vehicle’s only occupant.
The driver of the silver sedan was taken to an area hospital in serious condition.
A 26-year-old woman who was riding in the white sedan was pronounced dead at the scene. Two 25-year-old men who were also in the white sedan were transported to area hospitals, with one listed in critical condition and the other in fair condition.
Police said no additional information was immediately available. The Chicago Police Department’s Major Accidents Unit is investigating the crash.
