WEST VIRGINIA — PikeView Middle School in Mercer County will be closed to students Friday while a pesticide treatment is conducted at the school, according to Mercer County Public Schools.
School officials said staff members will report to work as usual during the closure.
Mercer County Schools said the closure serves as a required 24-hour notification under West Virginia state code ahead of the treatment.
According to the district, Orkin is scheduled to administer a Level 4 pesticide treatment at PikeView Middle School on Saturday as part of the county’s Integrated Pest Management program.
School officials said anyone with questions or concerns can contact the school office for additional information.
Any additional closings and delays will be added as they come in.
