PENNSYLVANIA — A 22-year-old man admitted to shooting another man during an incident Monday afternoon in Williamsport, according to police.
Officers were called to the 600 block of Green Street around 3 p.m. for reports of a gunshot victim. When they arrived, police found a vehicle still running in the middle of the road and a 22-year-old man lying in the street.
Authorities initially believed the man was the victim, but he later told officers he was the shooter.
Police said the man directed them to a nearby porch where the firearm was located. Witnesses also led officers to a nearby home, where a 35-year-old man was found with multiple gunshot wounds to his legs.
Both the suspected shooter and the victim were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident and said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
Police are asking anyone in the area with home security cameras to review footage for possible evidence. Anyone with information is asked to contact Agent Gino Caschera at 570-327-7595.
The investigation remains ongoing.
