
ALABAMA — Two people were killed in a wrong-way crash early Friday morning on Interstate 65 in Pelham, Alabama, according to authorities.
Officials said the crash involved a sedan and a truck traveling in opposite directions in the northbound lanes. Investigators reported the truck was heading south in the northbound lanes when it collided head-on with the sedan.
Authorities identified one of the victims as 20-year-old Jesse Southhard of Birmingham, Alabama. He was killed in the crash.
The driver of the truck, identified as 37-year-old April Ballard of Leeds, Alabama, also died as a result of the collision.
The crash occurred along Interstate 65 between exits 242 and 247, authorities said.
No additional details about what led to the wrong-way crash have been released.
