GEORGIA — A 16-year-old is in critical condition following a shooting Thursday evening in Statesboro, according to police.
Officers with the Statesboro Police Department responded to reports of a shooting around 7:45 p.m. on April 23 at the Groover Homes apartment complex on Packinghouse Road. When they arrived, they found a teenage male suffering from a gunshot wound and provided immediate medical aid.
The victim was transported by Bulloch EMS to East Georgia Regional Medical Center before being airlifted to a hospital in Savannah. He remains in critical condition, authorities said.
Investigators processed the scene and conducted multiple interviews, but detectives believe additional witnesses may have been present and have not yet come forward.
