OHIO — Two people were taken into custody Wednesday morning after a police chase that began on Interstate 75 and ended in front of the Montgomery County Children’s Services building on North Main Street, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the pursuit began around 6:20 a.m. on southbound I-75 near Benchwood Road following a crash. Authorities said the suspects left the scene of the crash in a pickup truck, prompting the chase.

During the pursuit, the suspects’ vehicle struck a bystander’s vehicle, troopers said.

The chase came to an end when troopers used a PIT maneuver to stop the pickup truck in front of Montgomery County Children’s Services at 3304 N. Main St.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol confirmed that two suspects were taken into custody following the incident.

No injuries were reported as a result of the pursuit.

The Englewood Police Department is investigating the incident.

Earlier in the morning, authorities advised motorists to avoid the North Main Street area while emergency crews and law enforcement responded to the scene.

Additional information about the suspects and any potential charges has not yet been released.
