NORTH CAROLINA — Two Washington men were arrested on cocaine charges following a joint investigation by the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office and Washington Police Department, according to authorities.

Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit and detectives with the Washington Police Department arrested 57-year-old Thaddeus Maurice Wallace and 72-year-old Clarence Earl Pierce on May 11.

Authorities said investigators executed a search warrant at Wallace’s home in Washington during the investigation.

According to the sheriff’s office, investigators seized more than a half-ounce of crack cocaine during the search.

Wallace was charged with one count of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine. Pierce was also charged with one count of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine.

Both men were booked into the Beaufort County Detention Center and held without bond, authorities said.

Sheriff Scott Hammonds said cooperation between local law enforcement agencies remains important in identifying and dismantling drug trafficking operations.

The investigation remains ongoing, and officials said additional arrests or charges could follow.
