Three people arrested following drug bust at North Carolina hotel

NORTH CAROLINA — Three people are facing multiple drug charges after an investigation into an armed robbery and attempted murder led deputies to a hotel room in Lexington, according to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said deputies responded to an armed robbery in the Linwood area on June 3. During the robbery, the victim was allegedly struck with a rifle, held at gunpoint and shot at as the suspects fled the scene.

Detectives identified Luis Sanchez-Delgado, 24, and Marco Sanchez-Delgado, 28, as two of the suspects involved. Arrest warrants were obtained charging both men with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree burglary, robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

On June 8, deputies located the two men at a Days Inn hotel in Lexington and took them into custody. A search warrant executed at the hotel room resulted in the seizure of two firearms, 190 grams of cocaine, 20.5 grams of heroin, 13.5 grams of methamphetamine, 215.2 grams of marijuana, 9.3 grams of psilocybin mushrooms and drug paraphernalia.

Deputies also found Maribell Sanchez-Guero, 22, inside the room and said she was in possession of controlled substances.

All three suspects were charged with trafficking cocaine, trafficking heroin and possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine.

Luis Sanchez-Delgado was given a $1 million bond, Marco Sanchez-Delgado was given a $750,000 bond and Sanchez-Guero was given a $75,000 bond. All three were booked into the Davidson County Jail and are scheduled to appear in court on June 19.

The investigation remains ongoing.
