
TEXAS — Thousands of Texas residents are without electricity Friday morning as power outages continue to affect communities across the state.
According to PowerOutage.us, 9,970 customers are currently without power statewide. The outages affect approximately 0.06% of the more than 15.4 million customers tracked across Texas.
Tarrant County is reporting the largest number of outages, with 2,929 customers currently without electricity. Hale County follows with 2,528 outages, while Harris County has 1,805 customers without power. Additional outages are being reported in Bexar County, Orange County, Gregg County, Dallas County and Ellis County.
Among utility providers, Oncor is reporting the most outages with 3,803 customers affected. Xcel Energy has 2,539 customers without service, while CenterPoint Energy reports 1,978 outages. Entergy and CPS Energy are also reporting hundreds of customers without electricity.
Hale County is experiencing one of the highest outage rates in the state, with more than 11% of tracked customers currently without power.
Texas currently ranks second in the nation for the total number of power outages and 10th nationwide for the percentage of customers affected, according to PowerOutage.us.
Utility crews are continuing restoration efforts across affected areas. Outage numbers are current as of Friday morning and may change as service is restored and additional outages are reported.
