
TEXAS — More than 38,000 customers across Texas are currently without electricity Wednesday morning, according to PowerOutage.us.
As of the latest update, 38,342 homes and businesses statewide are affected by active outages. Texas currently leads the nation in the total number of power outages and ranks sixth nationwide for the percentage of customers impacted.
Harris County has the largest number of outages in the state, with 5,615 customers currently without power. Other heavily affected counties include Nueces County with 3,400 outages, Bexar County with 2,550, Aransas County with 2,075 and Williamson County with 1,961.
Among utility providers, American Electric Power Texas reported the highest number of outages with 11,808 customers affected. CenterPoint Energy reported 7,063 outages, while Entergy had 4,252 customers without electricity.
Officials said outages are also impacting portions of San Patricio, Orange and Cameron counties.
PowerOutage.us reported that about 0.24% of the more than 15.6 million customers tracked across Texas are currently without power Wednesday morning.
Utility crews continue working to restore service in affected areas.
