Thousands without power in Ohio

OHIO — More than 12,000 customers across Ohio are currently without electricity Wednesday morning, according to PowerOutage.us.

As of the latest update, 12,430 homes and businesses across the state are experiencing active power outages. Ohio currently ranks second in the nation for the total number of outages and sixth nationwide for the percentage of customers affected.

Franklin County has the highest number of outages in the state, with 2,549 customers currently without power. Hamilton County is close behind with 2,524 outages, followed by Cuyahoga County with 2,383. Other counties reporting significant outages include Licking County with 1,506 and Greene County with 1,106.

Among utility providers, American Electric Power Ohio reported the largest number of outages with 4,690 customers affected. Duke Energy reported 2,694 outages, while AES Ohio had 2,226 customers without electricity. Cleveland Public Power reported 1,370 outages and currently has the highest percentage of affected customers among tracked utilities in the state.

Overall, about 0.23% of the more than 5.4 million customers tracked across Ohio are currently without power Wednesday morning.

Utility crews continue working to restore service in affected areas.
