
TEXAS — More than 14,000 homes and businesses across Texas are without electricity as of Saturday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us.
The outages total 14,228 customers statewide, representing about 0.09% of the more than 15.6 million customers tracked. Texas currently ranks third in the nation for the total number of outages and seventh for the percentage of customers affected.
Franklin County reports the highest number of outages, with 2,715 customers without power. Lamar County follows with 2,120 outages, while Harrison County has 1,553. Other counties with notable outages include Camp (1,046), Gregg (1,006) and Garza (815).
Among utility providers, Southwestern Electric Power Company reports the most outages, with 3,517 customers affected. Upshur Rural Electric Cooperative follows with 3,275 outages and has the highest percentage of customers impacted at about 6.45%. Oncor reports 2,634 outages, while Wood County Electric Cooperative has 1,303.
Utility crews are likely working to restore service as quickly as possible.
