
ALABAMA — More than 7,000 homes and businesses across Alabama are without electricity as of Saturday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us.
The outages total 7,080 customers statewide, representing about 0.27% of the more than 2.6 million customers tracked. Alabama currently ranks fifth in the nation for the total number of outages and fourth for the percentage of customers affected.
Mobile County has the highest number of outages, with 3,720 customers without power. Baldwin County follows with 1,333 outages, while Tuscaloosa County reports 773. Other counties with notable outages include Lamar (368) and Winston (338).
Among utility providers, Alabama Power reports the largest number of outages, with 5,326 customers affected. Riviera Utilities has 1,247 outages, while Cullman Electric Cooperative reports 338. Huntsville Utilities and Baldwin EMC Cooperative report smaller numbers of outages.
Utility crews are likely working to restore power as quickly as possible across affected areas.
