Thousands without power in Tennessee

TENNESSEE — More than 2,200 homes and businesses across Tennessee are without electricity as of Saturday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us.

The outages total 2,293 customers statewide, representing about 0.07% of the more than 3.49 million customers tracked. Tennessee ranks seventh in the nation for the total number of outages and eighth for the percentage of customers affected.

Maury County has the highest number of outages, with 1,142 customers without power. Dickson County follows with 438 outages, while Jefferson County reports 196. Other counties with smaller outages include Montgomery (66), Washington (60) and Overton (60).

Among utility providers, Columbia Power and Water Systems reports the largest number of outages, with 1,142 customers affected, accounting for the highest percentage at about 3.14%. Dickson Electric System reports 438 outages, while Appalachian Electric Cooperative has 196.

Utility crews are expected to continue restoration efforts across affected areas.
