
LOUISIANA — More than 16,000 homes and businesses across Louisiana are without electricity as of Saturday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us.
The outages total 16,146 customers statewide, accounting for about 0.69% of the more than 2.3 million customers tracked. Louisiana ranks second in the nation for both the number of outages and the percentage of customers affected.
Jefferson Parish reports the highest number of outages, with 4,300 customers without power. Caddo Parish follows with 2,379 outages, while Orleans Parish has 1,383. Other areas reporting significant outages include St. Tammany (1,148), Tangipahoa (945) and East Baton Rouge (896).
Among utility providers, Entergy reports the largest number of outages, with 11,129 customers affected. Southwestern Electric Power Company has 3,170 outages, while Cleco Power reports 966. Washington-St. Tammany Electric Cooperative has 797 outages and the highest percentage of customers affected at about 1.48%.
Utility crews are expected to continue working to restore power across affected areas.
