Thousands without power in Ohio

OHIO — More than 2,200 homes and businesses across Ohio are without electricity Sunday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us. The outage tracking service reported 2,234 customers without power statewide as of the latest update, affecting about 0.04% of the more than 5.4 million customers tracked across Ohio.

The largest number of outages is reported in Cuyahoga County, where 1,070 customers are currently without service. Williams County has 893 outages, giving it the highest percentage of customers affected in the state at 7.55%.

Other counties reporting outages Sunday morning include Stark County with 94 customers affected, Lorain County with 34 outages and Franklin County with 30.

Among utility providers, FirstEnergy reports the highest number of outages with 1,092 customers without power. Cleveland Public Power reports 974 outages and has the highest outage percentage among major utilities at 1.32% of customers affected. American Electric Power Ohio is reporting 133 outages statewide.

Ohio currently ranks sixth in the nation for the total number of reported outages, according to the outage tracking website. Residents experiencing outages are encouraged to report problems directly to their utility providers and avoid downed power lines.
