
MISSISSIPPI — More than 6,300 homes and businesses across Mississippi are without power Sunday morning, according to PowerOutage.us.
As of the latest update, 6,356 customers statewide are affected by outages out of nearly 1.5 million tracked customers. Mississippi currently has the fourth-highest number of outages in the nation and ranks second nationwide for the percentage of customers affected, with about 0.43% of customers without electricity.
Hinds County reports the largest number of outages with 2,034 customers affected. Adams County follows with 705 outages, while Warren County reports 608 customers without power. Simpson County has 506 outages, and Jefferson County reports 407 customers affected.
Among utility providers, Entergy reports the highest number of outages statewide with 3,773 customers without service. Southwest Mississippi EPA reports 1,722 outages and also has the highest percentage of customers affected, with nearly 7% of its customers without power. Southern Pine Electric reports 556 outages.
Jefferson County currently has the highest percentage of customers affected among counties, with 8.4% of tracked customers without electricity.
Utility crews continue working to restore service as outage numbers are updated throughout the morning.
