
FLORIDA — More than 5,500 customers across Florida are without electricity Saturday morning, according to PowerOutage.us.
As of the latest update, 5,581 homes and businesses statewide are currently without power, affecting about 0.05% of the nearly 11 million customers tracked across Florida.
Florida currently has the fourth-highest number of power outages in the country, according to the outage tracking website.
Duval County is reporting the largest number of outages in the state, with 1,927 customers currently without electricity. Nassau County follows with 1,596 outages, while Marion County reports 979 customers without power. Broward County has 200 outages, and Madison County reports 136.
Among utility providers, JEA reports the highest number of outages, with 1,927 customers affected. Okefenoke REMC reports 1,595 outages, while Duke Energy reports 1,111 customers without power. Florida Power & Light Company reports 688 outages statewide.
PowerOutage.us said the outage totals were updated within the last several minutes Saturday morning and could continue to change as utility crews work to restore service.
Officials have not released a statewide cause for the outages.
