
NORTH CAROLINA — Six people were arrested following a two-month drug investigation that culminated in simultaneous search warrants at three homes in Monroe, according to the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said the operation concluded May 29 when investigators executed search warrants at residences near Plyler Mill Road. Authorities said the six people arrested face a variety of narcotics-related charges, including trafficking fentanyl, trafficking cocaine, trafficking methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell and deliver controlled substances, conspiracy offenses, possession of controlled substances, maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The following individuals were arrested and issued secured bonds:
- Eddy Cook — $200,000 bond
- Samantha Boatright — $75,000 bond
- Devin Helms — $235,000 bond
- Justin Villegas — $105,000 bond
- Brenda Knight — $125,000 bond
- Lisa Killough — $5,000 bond
According to deputies, Cook, Knight and Killough have since posted bond and are no longer in custody.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office said the arrests stem from a two-month investigation into suspected drug activity in the area. The investigation remains ongoing.
