
TEXAS — A Harlingen man was killed in a rollover crash early Tuesday morning on U.S. Highway 77 north of Sinton, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
DPS said Anthony Villegas, 38, was driving southbound shortly before 1 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle. Authorities said the vehicle crossed lanes and rolled over multiple times before coming to rest upside down near the roadway.
Villegas was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Judge L. DeAses.
An 80-year-old woman who was a passenger in the vehicle was transported to Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital in Corpus Christi. DPS said she was listed in stable condition.
Troopers with the Texas Highway Patrol office in Sinton are continuing to investigate the crash.
