OHIO — A two-year investigation by a local drug task force has resulted in the seizure of an estimated $2 million worth of marijuana and psychedelic mushroom products that authorities say were largely intended to be sold to teenagers.

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation began after a high school parent raised concerns to a school resource officer. On April 15, the Delaware County Drug Task Force executed search warrants at eight locations across central Ohio.

During the raids, investigators seized $417,500 in cash, 13 firearms, and large quantities of drugs, including 130 pounds of THC edibles, 148 pounds of raw marijuana, 64,371 grams of THC wax, 1,128 milliliters of THC concentrate liquid, and 23,090 THC vape pens and cartridges.

While marijuana is legal in Ohio for adults age 21 and older, authorities said the seized THC products were illegally obtained, transported across state lines, and marketed to underage individuals.

Investigators identified numerous suspected traffickers connected to the operation, with some of the products reportedly sourced from Michigan. According to the sheriff’s office, many of the items were packaged to resemble candy, featuring cartoon characters and bright colors. Officials noted that some products appeared to be themed after popular characters, including Pokémon.

No charges have been filed at this time as the investigation remains ongoing, authorities said.
