MISSISSIPPI — Police in Ellisville are searching for a man suspected of a drive-by shooting that occurred just before midnight Tuesday, according to authorities.

The Ellisville Police Department said officers identified 27-year-old Jamari McGillberry as the suspect after reviewing surveillance footage.

Investigators said video shows McGillberry and another man involved in a brief altercation inside a Fast Mart. According to police, McGillberry then went outside to his vehicle while continuing to speak with the victim, who returned inside the store.

Police said McGillberry was seen getting into his vehicle before firing between 10 and 13 shots from a handgun. No injuries were reported.

Authorities were able to obtain a tag number linked to McGillberry, and the Jones County Sheriff’s Department later located the vehicle at a residence. Deputies forced entry into the home but did not find the suspect or the weapon. The vehicle was seized.

McGillberry is considered armed and dangerous and is wanted on a charge of drive-by shooting.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact the Ellisville Police Department at 601-477-9352 or Jones County Crime Stoppers at 601-428-7867. The investigation is ongoing.
