
TENNESSEE — A section of Interstate 65 remains closed Friday morning following a deadly multi-vehicle crash, according to officials.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation reported the crash occurred around 4:29 a.m. in the southbound lanes near mile marker 74.2 in Brentwood.
Authorities confirmed the crash resulted in at least one fatality. Details about the victim have not been released.
Traffic is currently being diverted at the Old Hickory Boulevard exit, and drivers are being urged to use alternate routes.
Officials say the interstate is expected to remain closed for an extended period as Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers investigate the cause of the crash.
TDOT estimates the roadway will fully reopen around 9 a.m., though no further details about the incident have been released.
