Part of I-26 in South Carolina shut down following three-vehicle crash

SOUTH CAROLINA — Traffic was heavily backed up Tuesday morning in North Charleston after a three-vehicle crash blocked two left lanes on Interstate 26 near Eagle Drive.

Authorities said first responders were on the scene around 8:18 a.m. working to clear the collision.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation reported the two left lanes of I-26 near Eagle Drive were blocked following the crash.

Officials have not released information on what caused the collision or whether anyone was injured.

Drivers traveling through the area were urged to expect delays and use caution around emergency crews working along the interstate.

Traffic cameras showed congestion stretching through the area as crews responded to the scene.
