GEORGIA — All westbound lanes of Interstate 16 are closed in Laurens County following a crash Tuesday morning, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

The crash occurred on Interstate 16 near Exit 42 in Dudley. Troopers said the crash remains an active scene but have not released additional details about what led to the wreck or whether anyone was injured.

According to the Georgia Department of Transportation’s 511GA system, the crash occurred near State Route 338 shortly after 9 a.m. The estimated time to clear the scene is 11 a.m., though that timeline could change as crews continue working.

The closure has caused significant traffic delays in the area, according to the 511GA traffic map.

Motorists are urged to use caution if traveling near the scene and consider alternate routes until the roadway reopens.
