VIRGINIA — Virginia State Police seized more than $465,000 worth of illegal drugs during a weeklong crime suppression effort across the Commonwealth, according to authorities.
The seizures occurred between April 22 and April 28 as state police worked alongside federal and local law enforcement agencies to target illegal narcotics activity.
Officials said the operation resulted in the recovery of a range of drugs, including 0.7 pounds of cocaine, 50.4 pounds of marijuana, nearly one ounce of fentanyl, and 0.64 pounds of psilocybin. Authorities also seized 28.7 pounds of THC products, 170 grams of LSD and 32 fluid ounces of liquid LSD.
In addition to the drugs, five firearms were recovered with an estimated value of about $2,500, police said.
According to Virginia State Police, the total street value of the seized narcotics is estimated at $465,214.
“The Virginia State Police remain steadfast in their mission to enhance public safety and uphold the laws throughout the Commonwealth while supporting the Governor’s initiatives on violent crime,” the agency said in a statement. “By working in close collaboration with local, state and federal agencies, law enforcement continues to disrupt criminal enterprises and safeguard communities.”
The investigation is part of ongoing efforts to reduce crime and combat the distribution of illegal drugs statewide.
