TEXAS — One person was injured in a shooting early Wednesday morning at a Fort Worth gas station, according to police.
Officers with the Fort Worth Police Department responded just before 12:30 a.m. to the 12400 block of South Freeway near the southbound lanes after receiving reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they learned the victim had already transported themselves to a hospital. Police said the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the mouth but sustained injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Authorities reported that additional shots were fired both at the original scene and later at the hospital while officers were investigating the incident.
A suspect was quickly taken into custody, police said.
The Fort Worth Police Department’s Gun Violence Unit has taken over the investigation and is working to determine what led to the shooting.
No additional information has been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
