OHIO — Toledo police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Wednesday morning outside a home in north Toledo.
Officers responded to reports of a person being shot at approximately 1 a.m. in the 800 block of Woodward Avenue, between Stickney Avenue and Doyle Street.
According to police, officers found 22-year-old Marquan Whitiker outside a residence where a small party was being held. Whitiker had suffered a gunshot wound to the head.
He was transported to a local hospital for treatment but later died from his injuries.
Investigators said Whitiker did not live at the home where the shooting occurred.
No additional details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting have been released.
