MISSOURI — A man was found shot to death inside a vehicle early Sunday morning in Kansas City, according to the Kansas City Police Department.
Police said officers were dispatched just before 1:15 a.m. to the area of East 63rd Street and Manchester Avenue after reports of gunfire.
While en route, officers received additional information about a vehicle crash near East 63rd Street and Beacon Drive. When officers arrived, they located a vehicle off the roadway.
Inside the car, officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Members of the Kansas City Fire Department responded and attempted life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said the case is being investigated as a homicide. No suspects have been taken into custody.
Detectives are working to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting and are searching for witnesses, evidence and surveillance footage.
