ILLINOIS — One person died and at least one other person was injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday morning on Interstate 74 in Henry County, according to Illinois State Police.
Troopers responded at approximately 10:50 a.m. to milepost 24 on eastbound I-74 near Andover for a reported fatal crash.
Authorities said at least two people were transported to a hospital following the collision. One of those individuals later died from their injuries.
Details about the circumstances of the crash, the identities of those involved, and the condition of the surviving injured person have not been released.
Illinois State Police said the right outside lane of eastbound I-74 remained closed as of 3:08 p.m. Sunday as the investigation continued.
The crash remains under investigation, and additional information is expected to be released as it becomes available.
