
OHIO — A 29-year-old woman was killed in a head-on crash Thursday morning in Butler County, according to Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones.
The crash happened shortly before 7 a.m. on State Route 177 south of Vizedom Road in Hanover Township.
Investigators said the woman was driving a 2011 Kia Soul northbound on State Route 177 when her vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 2011 Jeep Cherokee.
Both vehicles sustained extensive damage in the crash.
The woman, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Jeep, a 20-year-old man, was transported to a hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released information about the extent of his injuries.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family during this tragic time,” Sheriff Jones said. “Traffic crashes like this are heartbreaking and serve as a reminder of how quickly lives can be changed forever. We ask the community to keep everyone affected by this tragedy in their prayers.”
The crash remains under investigation by the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.
