OHIO — A man was killed in a two-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning after another driver failed to stop at an intersection, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers responded to the crash just before 5:45 a.m. at the intersection of County Road 24 and County Road 228 in Peru Township.
Investigators said a Honda Accord traveling southeast on County Road 228 failed to yield at a stop sign and struck a Jeep Wrangler that was traveling southwest on County Road 24. Following the collision, both vehicles went off the roadway, and the Honda crashed into a tree.
Authorities identified the victim as 43-year-old John Walker, the driver of the Jeep. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials said he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Honda, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured.
It is not yet clear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. The incident remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
