OHIO — A Zanesville man was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 Thursday morning, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened shortly after 10:30 a.m. on I-70 westbound near milepost 151.
Troopers said a vehicle was traveling in the left lane when it experienced a flat tire and attempted to move into the median. The driver then lost control and struck another vehicle in the left lane driven by 50-year-old Robert Murgatroyd of Zanesville.
According to investigators, the impact forced Murgatroyd’s vehicle into the right lane, where it collided with a semi-truck. The collision caused Murgatroyd’s vehicle to overturn onto the left side of the roadway.
Murgatroyd was pronounced dead at the scene by the Muskingum County Coroner.
Authorities said the other two drivers involved in the crash were not injured.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Zanesville Post is continuing to investigate the crash.
