NORTH CAROLINA — A man was killed in an early-morning shooting Thursday in Kinston, according to the Kinston Police Department.
Police said officers responded to reports of gunshots around 12:15 a.m. May 7 in the area of Stadiem Drive and Nobles Lane.
When officers arrived, they found 28-year-old Marquez Lewis, of Kinston, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Officers began life-saving efforts at the scene, but Lewis died from his injuries, police said.
The investigation remains active, and detectives are continuing to follow up on information related to the shooting.
