
MARYLAND — A motorcyclist was killed in a late-night crash in Frederick County that also left another person injured, according to authorities.
Deputies with the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office responded around 10 p.m. Monday to northbound Route 85 near Spectrum Drive for reports of a two-vehicle collision.
Investigators said a Suzuki motorcycle, operated by 23-year-old Christoph Kenny of Ijamsville, rear-ended a Honda passenger vehicle.
Kenny was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered serious injuries. Despite life-saving efforts by emergency crews, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Honda was taken to a local hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening, officials said.
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the crash and is asking anyone with information to come forward.
