LOUISIANA — A 21-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash in St. Tammany Parish early Thursday morning, according to Louisiana State Police.
Investigators said the crash happened around 3 a.m. on Highway 11 near North Lakeview Drive in Slidell.
State police said Gavin Dietrich, of Slidell, was riding a motorcycle at a high rate of speed when he approached a curve in the roadway. Investigators said Dietrich traveled off the road into a gravel parking lot and then over an embankment.
Dietrich was ejected from the motorcycle and died at the scene, according to investigators.
The crash remains under investigation by Louisiana State Police.
