ILLINOIS — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash early Sunday on the Eisenhower Expressway, according to Illinois State Police.
Authorities said the crash occurred just before 1 a.m. near the Mannheim Road exit on the inbound lanes of the expressway.
Troopers said the crash involved a Honda sedan and a motorcycle. The motorcyclist was transported to a nearby hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
No other injuries were reported.
The crash led to the closure of inbound lanes on the Eisenhower Expressway for more than five hours. The roadway reopened at approximately 6:30 a.m.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
