ALABAMA — The body of a man reported missing after falling into the water near Cedar Point Pier has been recovered, according to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said 20-year-old CJ Pitts of Grand Bay was reported missing on April 30 after entering the water near the pier.
His body was found Sunday, May 3, approximately 50 yards offshore near West End Beach on Dauphin Island.
In a statement, Sheriff Paul Burch thanked the agencies and volunteers who assisted in the search efforts, calling their dedication and tireless work “deeply appreciated.”
No additional details have been released.
