PENNSYLVANIA — A woman was killed in an alleged high-speed rollover crash in State College on Wednesday morning, according to police.

The crash happened shortly after 11 a.m. near the intersection of South Allen Street and Easterly Parkway.

Investigators said the woman was driving northbound on South Allen Street at a high rate of speed when she lost control of her vehicle. Surveillance video reviewed by police reportedly showed the vehicle narrowly avoiding a collision with another motorist and a pedestrian before striking a retaining wall.

Authorities said the vehicle then became airborne and overturned.

The driver was found unresponsive at the scene and was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Police said the woman was the sole occupant of the vehicle and no other injuries were reported.

Her identity has not been released pending notification of family members.

The crash remains under investigation.
