FLORIDA — A deadly head-on crash involving two trucks shut down County Road 218 in both directions Wednesday morning in Middleburg, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at Eagle Point Road.
FHP said the two trucks collided head-on, killing one driver. The other driver was taken to a hospital for treatment, though officials have not released information about the extent of injuries.
Authorities closed County Road 218 in both directions as troopers investigated the crash and crews worked at the scene.
Additional details, including the identity of the driver who died and what may have led to the collision, have not yet been released.
The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
