OHIO — A 29-year-old man was killed Monday morning after his SUV collided with a semitruck at an intersection in Pickaway County, according to Pickaway County Sheriff Matthew Hafey.
The crash occurred at approximately 4:35 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 23, Rudi Lane and state Route 752 in the Village of South Bloomfield.
According to Hafey, a Peterbilt semitruck had stopped at the traffic light on Rudi Lane and was attempting to turn north onto U.S. 23. At the same time, William Robishaw, 29, of Wooster, was driving a 2025 Nissan Rogue southbound on U.S. 23 toward the intersection and did not stop at the traffic signal.
The sheriff said the SUV struck the semitruck, causing the Nissan to travel underneath the trailer before spinning out.
Robishaw was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:44 a.m.
Authorities did not say whether the driver of the semitruck was injured.
The South Bloomfield, Commercial and Ashville police departments, along with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, assisted at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
