
GEORGIA — A man died Friday night following a boating crash on Lake Allatoona, according to authorities.
The Georgia Department of Natural Resources said the incident occurred just before 9:30 p.m. at Allatoona Landing. Officials reported that a bass boat struck a breakwater.
When game wardens arrived, they located the vessel at the breakwater and found the operator dead.
With assistance from Bartow County firefighters, the man was brought to shore and turned over to the coroner.
Authorities identified the victim as 63-year-old Patrick Ramsey of Dallas, Georgia. Officials said he was the only person on board the boat at the time of the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
