
OHIO — Authorities are investigating the death of an infant reported early Saturday morning in Drexel.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, crews were dispatched to the 200 block of North Lansdowne Avenue around 4:30 a.m. following a report of an unresponsive infant.
A 911 caller told dispatchers the infant was not breathing. The caller was described as being in extreme distress, screaming and sobbing while speaking with emergency personnel.
Dispatchers instructed those at the scene on how to perform CPR while emergency crews were en route. A man, identified as the child’s grandfather, assisted in administering CPR as the dispatcher provided instructions over the phone.
Additional details about the infant, including age and identity, have not been released.
The incident remains under investigation.
