
FLORIDA — A 58-year-old man was killed in a dirt bike crash at an ATV park in Polk County on Monday, according to authorities.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened shortly after 11:45 a.m. at Bone Valley ATV Park in Mulberry.
Investigators said the man was riding a dirt bike when he went over an incline and lost control. A GoPro camera recovered from the scene showed him riding at a moderate speed along the park’s trails before the crash.
Authorities said the man, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from the bike and suffered significant injuries.
Friends who were with him found him after the crash, attempted to provide aid and called 911, according to deputies. First responders said the man was unresponsive and had no pulse when they arrived.
He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The man’s identity has not been released.
The crash remains under investigation.
